"Lunar Affair"

A poem composed while I was on a midnight trip and the sight of the moon was so alluring

Oh perniciously alluring moon,
how come your silence can croon?
your perennial isolating haze
prompts a union with my gaze,
as if a waning thing
holds the certitude of a silver lining

You easily monopolize my sight,
just because I live through a longer night�"
just because my heart buries its light

Comforting as my mawkishness playing safe,
I indulge in this emotional chafe;
when do we ever end this affair?
when will you be too much to bear?
