Farewell to thee

Farewell to thee

A Poem by Amrita Sharma Pokharel

Farewell to thee..

Your hand in my,

my in yours

A strong bond,

A scotching sun,

the harsh and long road,

the barren field,

the Solitary  tree

still...freshness everywhere...

the closed eyes,

mute we, enjoying togetherness

Road, hence, separated,

You choosed the one, i the next

We departed,

Silent me ,heavy heart, broken

Darkness prevail..

Long way ,alone,hard to endure..

Hark!!!

Sound from far, echoed in my ears

Soft hand in my shoulder console me

Rub the tears,i looked up

An Angel,

Smile at me

No more i was alone...

Rejoiced ,delighted found Him

What i need now??

Lost materialistic world [no pain]

Found true world[something  I gained]

Now adeiu to thee my friend..

A beautiful poem. No farewell is a easy task. Can leave us wishing for a better ending.

This is a stunning poem with beauty in sadness. Saying goodbye is never easy. You have captured what those emotions feel like and allowed the reading to feel them as well. The last line is perfect.
