Why?
Why so much?
It’s everywhere.
Why?
Our literature.
Our movies.
Our music.
Our art.
Everything.
Human civilization,
tightly woven
with
sex and violence.
Wars are fought,
careers destroyed,
because of
sex and violence.
Instincts run deep.
Humanity
held ransom
by
sex and violence.
Common sense
logic
cannot
withstand!
Human passions
heated
crush logic
destroy thoughtfulness.
Why?
Animals.
We are animals.
We have
instincts,
like all the rest,
genetically programmed.
Procreation!
Self preservation!
Etched
into our
very being.
Cannot ignore.
Impossible to Ignore.
The strongest
in all animals.
Humans,
no different.
How
will it change
when the machines
arrive?
What would
machine civilization
look like when
instincts
are no more?
Time will tell!
They are coming.

I couldn't agree more. Violence has been a part of our upbringing. If you go back to the old movie serials when men all wore suits you'll find a fight scene in every episode. I recall seeing one scene on video where two men were throwing and punching each other all over a room. Despite being thrown over tables the hats (derbies) on their heads never fell off.

Sex has also been a mainstay on TV with a steady diet of sitcom innuendoes. In movies, I lost count on how many women I've seen topless or fully naked. That's been going on for many decades. Beautiful young women seem to love getting naked and showing themselves off, whether it is movies or porn. I recall hearing many women say they wouldn't do any nudity unless the part was right for it then thinking to myself, gosh, there must be a lot of great writers out there. haha

As far as music, sex has always been a part of it...rock music, blues...but with rap and hip-hop, it's become something entirely different which I don't care for.

I could go on but, yeah, I agree with this one totally.

I just read an article about sex and violence in Ancient Rome, 8Th Century BC. By comparison we are Saints. BUT humanity has much improvement it needs do.

Violence is another format of sex or another way around. We were raise at violence so mostly we understood violence is best solution. Hu an history is history of madness where violence is number one. We degrade our self every day with our violent reactions . Question is how we stop it. Cause we know violence is bad but we like peeking on violence through the art since old Greek until now. There is so string fascinating on violence even modern society saying violence is not good. Government forces like police or intelligence services still using it. Violence was also part of our survival and development. And how we stop,something what is with us and at us since our civilization begin. My friend I don't have answer for tnis.

Thank you for reading my work and your thoughtful comment.Sex/procreation, violence/self preservation are coded in our DNA. We act out as our programming dictates. The animal (us) will need to evolve past animal instincts. Perhaps blending will AI will do the trick. I know it sounds out there. But it’s coming!
