Emerging

Emerging

A Poem by E.J. Waling

Emergence.
Strange brew.
Spinning.
Mixing.
Heating.
Eons
in the
making.
From
plasma
to gas,
then stars,
elements,
dirt
then life.
Much more
In between.
Code book
outlines.
Stew
in the
pot.
Recipe
laid down
long ago.
Time
immemorial.
Evolving.
Growing.
Growing,
evolving,
final destination
none.
Runaway
reaction
on an
infinite
scale.
Spinning
to an
unknowable
place.
Spacetime
churning,
bubbling,
boiling,
forks
in the
road.
Emergence.
Ad infinitum.

A sparely worded speculation on the introduction and manifestation of consciousness and the Universe. Rather different than the Genesis account, but may ironically be telling the same tale.
