Book

A Poem by E.J. Waling

Book.
Book of
existence.
Flipping
pages.
Bookkeeper
watching,
noting.
Much to
observe.
Page
upon
page
the ledger
is built.
Reality
unfolds.
New pages
materialize,
old ones
dissipate,
fade away.
Fade
into
oblivion.
Each a
universe
unto itself.
Page upon
page, piled
high.
Each
unique,
apart.
Each an
infinite
story.
No connection.
Knowledge
confined.
Secrets
between.
Held close.
No knowing
one
of the
another.
Realms
apart.
Book of
eternity,
so structured.
Designed.
