Bright Sunny Day

Bright Sunny Day

A Poem by E.J. Waling

Bright
sunny day.
There’s a
time,
in each
persons life,
when
the facade
falls away!
Early on,
possibilities
seem endless.
Everything
is new.
Exciting.
Youth
has it
all
figured
out.
How things
will go.
How things
must be.
Each mind
spins up
its narrative.
Naïveté.
Know
it all.
Shapeless
form.
Empty
vessel.
Then,
it begins.
Life’s
maelstroms
dig in.
Cockiness
of youth
battered.
Reality
of things
sets in.
In the
end
reshaped,
retooled.
Chiseled.
Tough
passage
it is.
