Tweeners

Tweeners

A Poem by E.J. Waling

Tweeners.
Current
state
of things.
Still ruled
by baser
instincts.
Genetically
coded
instincts.
Animal buried
deep inside.
Survival
of the
fittest.
Intelligence.
Budding
intelligence.
Moving through
past the beast.
Toward reason
away from
animal.
Animal
passion.
Stuck
between.
Monkey
in the
middle.
Tweeners.
Dealing with
the animal
moving
toward the
thoughtful.
Tough passage.
Pushing,
pulling.
Moving
toward with
fits and starts.
Tough passage.
Much rides
on the
outcome.
