Hill

Hill

A Poem by E.J. Waling

Hill.
Over
the hill.
The
others live.
Different.
Not
to be
trusted.
Defend.
Clubs.
Must
defend.
Over
the hill.
The
enemy
lives.
Over
the
mountains.
The others.
They
live.
Enemies.
Different.
Not
to be
trusted.
Cannons.
Must
defend.
Around
the world.
The
others
live.
Enemies.
Different,
not
to be
trusted.
Must
defend.
Missiles.
Enemies
everywhere.
None
to be
trusted.
The enemy
is us,
defending
ourselves
from
ourselves.
The human
condition.
Insanity!
