Tome

Tome

A Poem by E.J. Waling

Story.
Every day
the story
is written.
Page after
page
the tome
is laid
out.
Meticulous
details,
fine
structure.
All there
to see.
Narrow
perspective
storyline
told.
Shallow
pond
the author
reside.
Vision
limited
potential
incomplete.
Vision
of self
hard to
define.
Autobiography.
The book
takes
shape.
I wonder!
How would
it read
as a
biography
from
afar?
