Children

Children

A Poem by E.J. Waling

Children.
Children
of the
void.
Overlooked.
Indifferent.
Universe
indifferent
to existence.
Galaxies
spin.
Stars shine.
Planets
revolve.
Uncaring
about
life’s
existence.
About
its trials
and tribulations.
Merely
a byproduct.
Children.
Lost
In the
void,
infinite.
Unseeing.
Unhearing
Uncaring.
Merely
elements
spinning
coagulating.
Different
forms
of the
same.
Experimenting,
remixing.
Existence,
then back
to the
cauldron.
Remixed
once
again.
Infinity
pays no
heed.
Children
of the
void.
Adrift.
On their
own.
