Little Magpies

Little Magpies

A Poem by E.J. Waling

Little
magpies.
Dutifully
repeat.
Repeat
what’s
been
Installed,
injected.
Zeros and
ones.
Instruments
of deception.
Squawking.
Hear
them
chattering.
Spreading
lies.
Lies as
truths.
Repeating
narratives
unfounded,
back and
forth.
Virus
like
spread
infecting
uniformed.
Narratives
of delusion.
Critical
thinking
lacking.
Questions
nonexistent.
Accepting
everything
told.
Product
of control.
Magpies
chattering.
