Tight

Tight

A Poem by E.J. Waling

Tight.
Wound
tight.
Years
in the
making.
Millennia.
One after
the next.
Civilization.
Raw,
rough.
Never ending
strife.
Tribe
versus
tribe.
Then
as now.
Ebb and
flow.
Humanity
organized.
Pushed
here.
Pulled
there.
Power.
Control.
Calling
the shots.
Toxic
power
generation.
Technology.
Ultimate
weapon.
Mass
hallucination.
Mind control.
Virtual
worlds,
layered
deep,
sentenced
away.
Caught
in the
web.
Unaware.
Unaware.
Vice grip
control.
Rabbit
hole
flow.
What’s
real?
Has it
ever been
real?

Yes, I think tribe versus tribe has always been real. When too many tribes get nuclear weapons, things will really get "tight."
