Old Timer

Old Timer

A Poem by E.J. Waling

Old timer.
Reflecting.
History,
experience.
Around
the block
then back
again.
Many times.
Seasoned.
Learnerd.
Veteran
of human
existence.
Worldview
molded.
Tempered
under
fire.
Years
in the
making.
Hammer,
chiseled.
Hardened.
Battle
hardened.
Seen
much.
Stepping
aside,
bemused.
Watching
the play.
Few
surprises
as the
young
scape
their knees.
Muddle
through.
