Stories

A Poem by E.J. Waling

Stories.
So many
stories.
Layer
after
layer.
Building.
Piling
up,
deep.
Histories
foundation.
Stories
designing
beliefs.
Generation
to generation.
Ancient
story tellers.
Dogmatic
integration.
Civilization’s
mythos
built.
One story
at a time.
World
view
generation.
Modernity
teetering
on sandy
foundations.
Ancient
narratives,
beliefs
influencing
still.
Hard to
let go,
reconfigure.
Simple
speak.
Easy
to believe.
Hard to
dislodge.
Stories,
ancient
narratives
not people
rule the
world.
