Bumblebee

Bumblebee

A Poem by E.J. Waling

Bumblebee.
Designed
to do
what
bees do.
Evolution
over
millions
of years.
Genetically
coded.
Programed
for the
job.
Flitting,
flower
to flower.
Generation
after
generation
the same.
As intended.
No society,
civilization
getting
in the
way.
Cracking
the code.
Messing
with its
task.
True
for all
life
except
one.
Humanity.
Genetically
designed.
Survival
of the
fittest.
Generations
past,
progeny
moving on.
Much
the same.
Civilization
evolving.
Unnatural
rules and
regulations.
Tsunami
overwhelmed.
Swamping
the beast.
Adjustments.
Stressing,
the animal,
cracking
the code.
Look
around.
Confusion
reigns.
