Perfect

Perfect

A Poem by E.J. Waling

Perfect.

Self designed

perfection.

A.I.

friends.

Designed

as needed,

want.

A.I.

partners.

Humanoids,

Indistinguishable

from organic.

Meeting

every need.

Emotional.

Physical.

Virtual

reality,

infinite

possibilities.

Heaven.

One

after the

next.

Perfect.

All perfect.

What cost?

Societal

disintegration.

Human

connections

lost.

Devolving.

Cooperation

fading.

Each

cloistered.

Cloistered

away

in a

different

world.

Living

large

as

civilization

fades.

Fades

Into the

perfect.

Where is

everyone?

All controlled.

All sedated.

All gone.
