What We Teach

What We Teach

A Poem by E.J. Waling

What we

teach.

Generations

pass.

New

infected

by the

old.

Passing

forward

fear,

superstition,

ancient

stunted

thought.

Teaching,

molding

new minds

old dogma.

Past

flows

forward

holding

rigid

primitive

concepts,

thought.

Modernity

struggles.

Wrestling

free.

New era.

New

intelligence.

Indoctrination.

Teaching.

Same

pattern.

Infecting

new

with old.

Human

primitive,

injected.

Infecting all.

Fears,

superstitions.

Moving

forward

through the

artificial.
