Selfishness is paying these days...

Selfishness is paying these days...

A Poem by Sapphus

Have you noticed how the moon rises above the earth, stealing her glory. Same substance. Same stone.

The earth is a birthplace. Grounded and warm. The moon is barren and cold. Rising only for itself. Grabbing the silver on the way up.

Me thinks _Being selfish pays.

I was born under the astrological sign of Cancer, which refers to the female gender as "moon maidens". I've always been drawn to it, that, and the voyeur of "the man in the moon". It may be barren and cold, but it certainly navigates the sea and rules the night for lovers of all ages. How blue would we be without it?

You are most welcomed!
A like this new slant on the moon. It is forever described in romantic, reverential tones, but perhaps the opposite is true. Just another selfish entity seeking the limelight for itself at the expense of Earth and Sun.

A very clever idea conveyed, Sapphus.

Yes, a lot in fact. Thank you Jacob.
This reminded me of a native vietnamese proverb. The moon is no one's friend. Well done you -Mr Sapphus.
