Another splendid poem from start to finish. You describe many of the benefits of sleep in a vivid and meaningful way in a flowing rhyming offering with countless little cameos for the reader to imagine. My daughter did Eng.Lit too and her poetry when doing so was excellent too. My youngest son simply has writing talent that escaped me!

Sleep is vital to me and I never cut back on it. I take every opportunity to write about it. While writing this piece I have depended a lot on scholastic articles neural-Decoding-of-Visual-Imagery-During-Sleep. Thank you. My effort isnt wasted. And it must be such a great feeling to see your children reaching higher things. I think its that satisfaction that counts ultimately.

This is a delightful read. I love dreams and your poem really is touched by dreams. So many good lines, but this one really made me smile. Wonderfully explained and expressed! tyfs

On the bosoms of fierce lionesses" the imagery, the meaning, the poetry. Amazing!

The last two lines made me think again of Romeo and Juliet and the scene in the tomb...as Romeo has his soliloquy and speaks to the Juliet he thinks is dead...
or Hamlet saying..."to sleep, perchance to dream"--
this poem made me think...what if we could live two lives? The one we live when we are awake in our reality, but also the one we have in our dreams....
I often wonder which choice would be the better one....fiction is sometimes better than truth...but not always.
the "debts to be cleared/ Past favors to be returned." The ledger to be somehow balanced.

Very nice Sabrina. Lots of observations about all the aspects of sleep. I'm afraid sleep is not easy for me but I generally cope with it. An afternoon nap works wonders! One advantage is that I dream a lot and that is a great source that I've used a lot in my writing.

I am feeling great thank you and I always do asci am a sound sleeper and stick to my sleeping schedule strictly. Never have had sleepless nights and grateful to God for that. Helps me to keep my moods even and balanced. I think reading can help you get better sleep the way it always helps me to doze off. Thats just one of the ways. Others are exercise of course. Lovely images here, Sabrina. Particularly enjoyed the mention of "Lethe"; i like my Greek mythology! I can certainly relate to your poem and its title. Sleep is a big pastime and one i enjoy. The off beat rhyme works well, too, but its the imagery that is your strength in this one. I enjoyed the read. Nicely written.

There are very solid reasons why I wrote this as sleep is underrated by many people and it has many great restorative powers and is as important as is proper nutrition and exrcise to the body. All three are the pillars to a healthier and longer life. Thank you for the fine observations on the writing style used here. It is done deliberately to attract reader to the magical power of sleep.
