I'm not sure i have seen these here in the states yet... but I do sell vintage jewelry at my store and when I get old cut glass pieces they sell rather quickly the more colors the quicker they sell:) you have a very nice rhyme flow in this with a nice musical quality :)

The bangles of the subcontinent, yes! Worn in abundance, so brightly coloured and with every colour having a distinct meaning. I am familiar with these. They are so important to the ladies that wear them, far beyond just being decorative. The meaning they hold makes them so much more valuable than mere metals of westernised value. They are a symbol of self in many respects. This is an original write, Sabrina, and one on a theme that is not covered much on this site. Lovely rhyming here, too. Much enjoyed!

Bangles form an important part of the traditional common jewelry in Pakistan. Glass bangles are very popular here and go with ethic as well as western dress-up and so even college girls go for it a lot. That and our nose rings too. It can look beautiful with the write outfit etc. I think the affinity for bangles has even reached western shores. I personally think everyone looks nicer with them. Of course, a bangle is not only an ornament it is also an important part of womanhood in South Asian culture and tradition. They don’t just add charm and elegance of a wrist but are also considered as the symbol of beauty and good luck for women.. Pakistan glass bangles are produced mainly in Hyderabad. Exchange of bangles is one of the many traditions my household follows during Eid.
