"Seems..."

"Seems..."

A Poem by Chris
"

Elisa Laura's "Winter Valley" - I've lived the pic she put with the poem.

"

"Seems..."

Memories of time's grace

paths and ways

each ...place - but a breadth away

a foot's fall

a step's pace -

an arm, a memory's reach

and still more and yet near

to the taste of breathing while

gazing to the distance 'tween

...heartbeats.

And there IS wind

and it whistles clear and close

each cry a soft lullaby

and finds each space -

each nook

each pause I took

'til it bites with

tenderness and care

and caresses my heart

with its heat and need...

being there.

The taste of being

we

felt and held with

barbs touch - paused

within

by faerie ...and me.

I'm somewhat mystified by this. The structure is obviously free verse, which I loathe, but the diction makes up for it. Although I'm quite lost with the actual meaning, I feel like I understood it in a sense other than literal. Quite an exquisite write.

I liked--very much--that you included the concept of "the taste of breathing" an unsung description in many a scene, poetic or literary. The line "pauses I took" invoked a pleasant sort of philosophical wonder. Well done.

Thanks man for pausing with me.
A poem that tries to take the measure of the space between identities, the you, the me, the we, the caresses and the barbs...some lovely and unexpected collocations, the heart's heat and need, the taste of breathing

I have sat atop many a rock , stood in many a forest, paused near near , water , and ask those around me , do they hear i t , do they feel it , and far too many times , the answer is ... no
You my friend , I know your answer ..

You weave your words on paper much like a finely crafted textile. Words to be read and then re -read over and over for the beauty created within them.

It "seems" we had a connection dear Chris, how do I loved this....
My heart smiles, and my quill dances to thank you.
