We tell ourselves

- we know,

we understand,

but ...is always a but

...always...

but ...we can't do for every one -

...not enough hours,

nor enough days...

ever and all the excuses

all the reasons...

but 

we have the tears,

have the heart.

have the strength of will

and the soul

...to do what we can

as we really can

at any given time

on any given day

without a shred

of selfishness or hesitation

or even a question of

what we really have

or could spare

...for a child...

in our right HERE and NOW

Comes a time

we need remember

in OUR right here and NOW

helping people is sharing our humanity

but helping children is 

growing our future.
