Amanda Jackson

A Story by Andy Ruffett
"

Read the story.

"
As she sat down to write another chapter, she noticed the stained glass window in the distance. It looked like a Jackson Pollock painting: clouds everywhere. There were some reds but also blues, greens, and purples.

She put her pen down and approached the window to get a better look at it. She placed her right hand on the pane of glass and felt the outline of each splatter.

I know what today's chapter will be about.

With these few words, you've painted a vivid scene for the reader and obvious inspiration for the subject. Many times, a small thing has given me just what I needed to begin creating.
