Back in TimeA Story by Stan LeeI discovered an old book at the back of my cupboardMy eyes shone with tears and my heart ached with a mix of
emotions. I'd been cleaning out my cupboard when I came across the book. It was
old. Very old. Bound in deep red leather, the pages were frail and browned.
The writing was barely decipherable and the language seemed almost foreign. I
sat down to read. Once I started I couldn't stop. The story took me back in time to a young girl called Laura. As I read I shrieked with laughter at her crazy adventures and opinions. I shed tears along with her as she learned the agony of death and the heartbreak of rejection. The way she wrote was so simple and innocent, yet reading this book I felt every emotion right in my soul. Upon finishing the last page I sat quietly for some time contemplating what I had just read. I found myself wishing that I had a time machine so I could go back in time and tell Laura not to worry and that things were going to get better. Laughing I dismissed the idea and got up to put my childhood diary back in the cupboard where it belonged. © 2015 Stan LeeAuthor's Note
