My lovely rose

My lovely rose

My lovely rose,

she protects herself with thorns.

Everyone sees, how pretty she blooms,

but no one really knows, 

what she's been thru.

I wish my rose saw, 

how beautiful her thorns are,

but her eyes are only looking down.

She dunno that I love and adore her,

with her so called "flaws"

I would have given her everything,

even bilions of stars,

but at the end...

my lovely rose dies. 

No one can see her beautiful thorns no more,

sea brought her body to the shore

of never ending

peace.

This is the most amazing poem ever! I actually relate to it, With me being the rose that is, and my boyfriend would be the person talking about the rose. It just reminds me how I am and it is truly stunning. The ending made me almost cry, but it is beautiful and full of emotion!

this was a very sombre piece, but you wrote it with so much delicacy. i really appreciate this kind of writing. i also appreciate the optimism of there being a 'shoreof never ending peace' that awaits us at the end. but though life is a struggle, i think it's still worth holding on to. and i like to believe there are many more roses out there for me, and for you.
