Stolen glances

Stolen glances

A Poem by lost_poet

Bunch of thoughts, not rhyming though, about the boys- in my love triangle.

Stolen glances

Let me…

Let me be delusional.

Let me listen to those sweet words my mind keeps whispering while trying to fall asleep, thinking about you.

Let me believe your eyes were looking for mine to steal a simple glimpse of time before turning away.

Let me replay those moments when your fingertips grazed mine, searching for bit of warmth in freezing cold.

Let me drown in the perfect image of your eyes.

Let me overthink those feelings you hide behind your stoic mask.

I can see it, you know?

I can see the half of a smile creeping onto your lips when I look for your eyes.

I can see the worry in your eyes when uncertainty occupies your mind.

I can see how you lean forward in interest when I speak.

I can see how you bite your lip in jealousy while I smile at others politely.

I can feel it, you know?

I can feel your burning gaze when I’m looking away.

I can feel how the walls around your heart tumbles when I show you, I care.

Can you explain, why you're only kind, when he's not around?

Can you explain your words, waiting to echo thru empty rooms, when we are alone?

Can you explain that pain, not so hidden in your eyes, when you are not the one who's resting his arm around my shoulders?

I can see it.

You know I can.

But you hide it.

Because of the other man.

Talk to me.

Tell me what you feel.

Steal me.

Have me.

Save me.
