When I pause for self reflection
All I see are life's rejections
Yet with tender recollections
I see You

Holding me amidst the terror
Haven's joy is bright and fairer
Though my feet may step in error
I trust You

May my roots in You be growing
Keeping step though never knowing
Where your Spirit-wind is blowing
I will follow You

When the ones I love are leaving
When my lonesome heart is grieving
Lord, with deeper faith believing
I will cling to You

Teach my eyes to see your glory
Touch my words to tell your story
In the truths of allegory
I find You

See the ways my heart has striven
Pridefully perfection-driven
Yet through love you've freely given
I love You
