I AM

Question where you get your sense of identity. Concept from some modern Buddhist philosophies that our ego is separate from our true self. This "poem" is really more of a meditation.

Close my eyes…

wait for it…

stillness,

blackness,

sound,

then touch…

I wonder

what these things would be

separate from

color and light

What would they mean…

without identity
or attachment

Maybe these things…

separate from judgment

are not things at all

but

manifestations

of

fear

ego

fulfilling

trinkets

that say…

I am wealthy,

successful,

distinguished

artistic,

proper,

religious,

strong

I am.

But then, in this darkness…  I AM…  still here.

The I is immortal and continues on under all and every circumstance
All else must be illusory all that we feel all that we see
are not as they appear to be.Infinite creativity
Allows us all the chance to be whatever we choose to be.
Although it's only temporary I think perhaps you will agree.
That there is much we have to learn before we can return
from whence we came.We have no choice but play the game
