Still Mine

Still Mine

A Poem by Elizabeth Bennet

Lover and loner

Were you the same person yesterday

Were you still holding my hands

In artistic notions and more

Were you still finding beauty

In my facial expressions

Through love and mischief

Were you still staring at me yesterday?

Was yesterday more beautiful somehow

Than how it looks today

Were you still the same person

In senses and sensibilities

Yesterday, in lilies and gardens, day and night

Were you still mine?
