Dawn's Rebirth

I feel a song

bubbling and ebullient

fierce-eyed and free

rooted and strong

Within my spirit.

I hear my chest

creak and grow

groan and expand

reach and stretch

To new heights.

I watch my perspective

Sharpen and focus

Saturate and absorb

Beyond inflection

Beyond myself.

I inhale rebirth

Fresh and frosted

Squeaky and clean

Refreshed of my own worth

Dawn's clean slate.

I taste the gale

Whirling and running

Carving and eddying

Renewing what is stale

Clearing what is past.

I feel a song

Overflowing and bubbling

Thankful for the promises

Of tomorrow

Purified by the break of today.
