Answer Me This

Answer Me This

A Poem by Annebelle Ashire

Retracing steps that we made
Running in the rain
Summer's storm
Summer's rain
Close my eyes
And the memories flood back to me

Train rushes past
My tears are flowing just as fast.
Nothing's making sence anymore
Because I need you
Holding me close

When the sun sets in the sky
When the light whispers goodbye.

When the stars play pick-a-boo
And the sky turns black from blue

I need you

I sit here on the cold damp pavement
Watching the sun disappear
Why am I here?
Answer me this . . .

why am I . . .
Here?
