Between Nightmares and Dreams

Between Nightmares and Dreams

A Poem by Annebelle Ashire

Do not wake me from my
Nightmare
Wake me from my
Dream
For it is far more
Dangerous
Than it would ever
Seem

You would never
Guess
For someone like
Me
To
Test
All that life
Offers to
Be

Between nightmares
And
Dreams
There are plenty of scares
And many
Screams

Between nightmares
And
Dreams
There lies another world
One
Comparable to none

A world so full of
Fears
So full of endless
Confusion
Terrified of oncoming
Tears
Surely you would guess this to be your
Delusion
