DestinyA Poem by Annebelle Ashire
Why is it that everywhere I go, everything I do, I see love slowly slipping away from those who used to trust? There's more hate than there ever was before, more regrets than I'm used to dealing with. Friends are harder to find, as fast as I gain them, they leave even faster. With the blink of an eye, this world gets larger, though at the same time the space I live and breathe in gets smaller. If the rest of human kind had an eye of beauty, there would be less depression, fewer suicides, less hurtful tears, everyone would understand that not everything has to be horrible. Innocent people wouldn't have to die just because one person was scared and carried a gun. The ones with the guns are only confused, lost or scared. War wouldn't be an issue, because it just wouldn't have to be. I wouldn't wake up crying in the middle of the night, for my family, or others that have slipped away. Every person that roams this earth is a story waiting to be read. If we only took the time to read our own story, we wouldn't be so lost. We'd understand that there's no reason to travel, When our destination is staring us right in the face. © 2008 Annebelle Ashire |
