ScarsA Poem by Annie LaHueBeneath the
soft fibers Of the worn, Torn hoodie
he wears, Lies broken
skin Torn beyond
repair. He hides
them Self-conscious
of subtle differences Of constellations
I trace on his back, Imagined and
strange, Across each
bump and divot Red scars" Bright and
fierce as the pin pricked night sky Mesmeric,
bared to me Gravel
ridden rind © 2014 Annie LaHue |
