Ocean

Feel like I could cry a river

invisible tears falling forever

pouring into an ocean

between you and me

 

I'm on one side

You're on the other

growing ever oblivious

to the great void

you've left inside me

 

An emptiness to no end

I cry out

to no avail

you slowly turn away

 

A river of tears

As your face is lost

beneath what has become

an ocean's surface.
