Ode to the Pencil

Ode to the Pencil

A Poem by J

My pink pencil, you inspire me to write.
How I love the way you sneer, squeak and prowl,
Invading my mind day and through the night,
Always dreaming about the tawny owl.

Let me compare you to a library?
You are more evil, terrific and smart.
Ice bites the debris of February,
And wintertime has the black snellen chart.

How do I love you? Let me count the ways.
I love your gay attitude, legs and hands.
Thinking of your springy legs fills my days.
My love for you is the aesthetic clans.

Now I must away with a gorgeous heart,
Remember my brisk words whilst we're apart.
