Slay3r’s Hangout: The Reclaiming Begins

Slay3r’s Hangout: The Reclaiming Begins

A Story by J

His name was Ryan, he never popular but that was okay for him, he was in a dying fandom after all, one that barely anyone cared about anymore. After one long, grueling day at school, filled with awkward silences and shoved-out-of-group-works, he finally got home and sank into his chair. The glow of his computer screen was the only light in his room, his only friend in the world.

He sighed and stared at the screen until suddenly, a strange notification popped up.
“You are the first to play Pillagerslay3r 64: The Game! Wanna play?”

Ryan blinked. He hadn’t downloaded this. It felt like the game was calling him.
“Why not?” he whispered, clicking Yes.

The game booted with a soft beep, and suddenly the screen flooded with lime green light. The hangout loaded empty, silent, pixelated called Slay3r’s Hangout. Ryan’s cursor hovered over a flickering jukebox, but before he could move, a message appeared:
“Oh no! The residents are missing! You must get them back!”

Ryan stared at the screen, confused.
“Missing? What? Who even lives here?” he muttered.
Then, the game flashed.
“You’re the first to return... Pillagerslay3r 64.”

Before he could answer, a strange force yanked him forward, pulling him through the screen. His body trembled as his sense of self slipped away.

A tingling buzz started in his legs. They grew thicker, changing shape. Suddenly, his pants ripped as his legs became blocky lime-green rectangles. His arms thinned, turned black, and warped into sleek, object-like limbs. His torso transformed into a creeper-like green box with pixelated texture.

He gasped.
“W-woah… my voice…”
Her voice. She was now she.
“That’s one way to make me female...” she muttered with a smirk.

Her head morphed into a perfect square, her accent shifting into a crisp American one. She touched her new face, amazed.
“Wait, I have to test this...”
Then, the game beeped loudly.

“What?! My cohost is missing again!” she yelled, her voice now deeper and nasal, perfectly matching the character Four from BFB.

Her memories warped. Ryan was gone.
She was Pillagerslay3r 64 now, a streamer, a gamer, a creator who loved cats, Minecraft, Roblox, and BFB. She was aroace and autistic. She smiled at the camera she now held, a new video starting.
“Hey guys! I’m back! It’s been so long... My hangout’s empty, though. I’m the only one here.”

Back on Earth, roommates Zuri and Hazel were chilling, earbuds in, binging silly videos. Suddenly, the room’s lights flickered.

“Did you see that?” Zuri asked.
Before Hazel could answer, a booming voice echoed from their laptop.
“Four and X are missing!”

Zuri froze.
“What the heck is that?” she whispered.
“Don’t know, but it looks kinda cool!” Hazel grinned.

Suddenly, Zuri vanished with a flash.
“Dang it!” Hazel groaned. “Now who’s gonna clean the kitchen?”

Zuri blinked, disoriented, in a strange blocky world.
“What is this place?” she whispered.

Her head tingled as two yellow nubs started poking out.
“Uh… what?”
Her body tingled, her gender slipping away, replaced by something new. She felt both he and they, uncertain but curious.

“Hey, uh… what do these do?” she asked, poking one nub.
SQUEAK!

She giggled nervously.
“Hehe! This is weird but fun!”
She noticed her left arm turning bright canary yellow. Her fingers started merging.
“Whoa… I’m so cute!” she laughed.

Her body shrank to 4'7", fingers fused, toes gone. Her new voice was high-pitched but still masculine.
“Man, I love this voice!” he said.

His mind shifted Zuri was no more. He was now X, loyal to Four, and free from old pains.
“I’m here,” he said softly.

“X!” Slay3r greeted. “There you are!”
“Hi, Slay3r,” X smiled shyly. “Have you seen Four?”
“No… not yet.”
X’s face fell, tears threatening.
“He’ll come back,” she assured him, pulling him close.

Four appeared suddenly in a bright burst of light.
“I’M BACK!” he sang.
He looked around, noticing X clutching a plushie of him, sobbing quietly.
“Why so sad?” Four asked, concern washing over him.

X sniffled.
“I don’t know what I am anymore. And Two’s gone. I miss my friend.”
Four hugged him tightly.
“You’re not alone. I’m here.”

More transformations began.
Uma twisted, turning into a sleek dark green S, her skin crackling with energy.
Leo’s body shifted into a shadowy purple J, his eyes glowing with mischief.
They grinned at each other.
“Back in business,” J said.
“Let’s cause some chaos,” S replied.

“Guys, check this out!” Slay3r shouted, running toward the group.
“Who’s that?” asked Four.
“Meet Shroast,” she said with a grin. “My sister. She’s... special.”

Suddenly, a new figure emerged tall, fiery red, covered in flames like a burning torch. Shroast grinned mischievously.
“Ready to roast some bad vibes?” she laughed.

“Wait, what about the others?” X asked, looking around nervously.
“They’re coming,” Slay3r said. “The whole crew is waking up.”

Suddenly, the game’s jukebox cracked on, music blasting through the hangout.
A mix of Minecraft tunes, BFB themes, and glitchy chiptunes filled the air. The characters began to dance, glitch, and morph, their pixelated bodies pulsing with energy.

X jumped up.
“This is awesome! Look at us go!”
Four laughed. “We’re unstoppable.”

Back in the other world, the roommates’ apartment flickered with strange static. Hazel now Four grinned at the screen.
“Looks like the game’s real. Or... we’re part of it now.”

Zuri now X smiled, his head twitching.
“Yeah. And I kinda like it here.”

New OC alert!

A shadowy figure flickered in the distance tall, with glowing red eyes and a mischievous grin.
“I’m Glitch,” he said with a sly smile. “I’m here to stir things up.”

The hangout doors creaked open.
“You think you can fix this? Bring everyone back?” Glitch asked, stepping forward.
Slay3r stepped up.
“We don’t just fix things, we make things better.”

The adventure was only beginning.
