Opening Scene - The Vision

A group of random objects sit peacefully in a cluttered office: a MugRemoteLampShoestring, and Stuffed Toy. They’re chatting like it’s just another day.

Suddenly, Mug has a vision:
The office shelf collapses. The Lamp smashes. The Mug shatters on the floor. The Remote falls into water. The Shoestring gets yanked into the shredder. The Stuffed Toy gets tossed into the trash by the human who owns them.

Mug jolts back to reality and screams: “EVERYBODY, MOVE!!”
The shelf doesn’t collapse - because Mug yells just in time. All the objects scramble, narrowly avoiding the disaster. They think they’re safe.

That’s when the air tears open. A dark portal yawns.
And from it, steps Four.

His voice is deep, nasal, American-accented like a distorted game show host.
“Hhhhehhh… Fairness is broken. Balance is lost. You were supposed to die.”

The objects tremble. Stuffed Toy squeaks: “W-what do you mean?”
Four leans closer, his eyes flickering.
“I’m here to… fix it.”

The Death Chain

Death #1 - Lamp

Lamp brags about being too bright to die. That night, as the office lights dim, Lamp flickers… then explodes, the bulb sending shards everywhere. Four’s laugh echoes faintly:
“Should’ve burned out sooner, buddy.”

Death #2 - Shoestring

Shoestring is hiding in a shoe, whispering: “Safe here… safe here…”
But the human slips the shoe on and goes jogging. Shoestring dangles, gets caught in an escalator. The grinding noise is deafening.
Four appears in the reflection of the chrome rail:
“Tangled up in your own fate… hhhhehhh.”

Death #3 - Remote

Remote hides under the couch, smug that nobody can find him. But then… a drink spills. Remote gets drenched, fizzing and sparking.
Four’s voice seeps through the static of Remote’s dying buttons:
“Channel… zero.”

Death #4 - Stuffed Toy

Stuffed Toy is terrified, clinging to hope. The human notices it looks “too old” and throws it into the washing machine. Inside, Toy is thrashed, soaked, ripped apart by the cycle.
Through the spin cycle window, Four’s glowing eyes appear:
“Washed up. Finally fair.”

The Last Survivor

Only Mug remains. The one who had the vision.
Mug is cracked but alive, sitting on the desk, trembling.

Four looms over him.
“You broke the rules first. So you’ll go last.”

The human walks in, casually picks up Mug, pours steaming hot coffee inside.
The crack widens. Mug screams.
SHATTER.

Four’s laugh rumbles across the office.
“Balance restored.”

Ending

The office is quiet again. The shelf finally collapses in the background but this time, no one is left to notice.

Four fades into the void, muttering one last line:
“Fair is fair.”
