Silence

I breathe death when

I smoke despair

I kill the birds

And I pollute the air

I’m no angel

I’m just a stranger

Who doesn’t know

What’s right and what’s fair

 

For so long

I wished for care

And lost in the fog

I wouldn’t dare

To reach the light

That’d give me clean air

 

Frogs and stones

Fall from the sky

And what I want’s not easy to find

I shout, I cry and inside I fry

I scream

The heat just kills me

No more, I just can’t fight

So I sob silent cries

I try to sound, but my mouth

Just reads the words

“I’m just a normal guy!”

I really enjoyed reading this piece. The deep emotional despair, reaching out, but ultimately not getting anywhere is well portrayed. I especially liked the lines "I am no angel/ I am just a stranger/ Who doesn't know/ What's right and what's fair". The feeling of being trapped, stuck in space between Heaven and Hell, screaming out "Which direction shall I go? Lead me to true happiness!", often is the most deceiving answer to any of our immortal questions.

This sounds like all of the smoke stacks across the earth... belching out the poison and pollution that kills crops, pollutes rivers and gives diseases to the lands inhabitants. Very nice write. Valentine
