Vanish

Vanish

A Poem by Lauren Applegrove
"

Have you ever noticed that dying is a lot like vanishing?

"
what happened to you?
where did you go?
It's been awhile since I've seen you,
so very long ago.
Mom won't stop crying,
and Dad won't say why.
Grandma says you've gone to a place
where good people fly.
The neighbors say you have left,
but all your stuff's still here.
And I still don't understand,
when they say your very near.
I asked your friend and they don't know
where exactly you have gone.
I haven't seen you since that day
we vacationed at the pond.

This is deep. Wow! A grammatical errors, if I may be so bold to point out: "Grandma says you've gone to a place TO where good people fly" (I know it may sound bad, but that's how it's written. But in order to avoid the "to....to", you might consider writing the lines as "Grandma says you're in a place/To where good people fly"). "I asked your friendS, and they don't know".....you were just missing the 's'. Other than that, this is quite something. I'm surprised no one found commented on it in any way during its presence of various months. Well done!
