NoiseA Poem by Lauren ApplegroveNo matter where you go there is always some kind of noise.Screeching, screaming, crying, laughter, it pains behind my eyes. Slamming, snapping, yelling, chatting, it makes my anger rise. Scratching, tapping, creaking, whispers, forming static as it blends. Hissing, popping, squeaking, echoes, I cannot think, again. Taunting, cheering, calling, tunes, it forms some kind of beast. squeaking, squawking, ringing, thumping, and I beg for it to cease. Cackling, crowing, shuffling, stifling, silence should feel free. buzzing, whirring, clacking, clicking, it never does for me.
