Behind Each Word

A picture may be worth a thousand words, but what is a single word worth? A world.

 

Behind each word there’s a world

A hundred more stories to tell

To grow, to flower and blossom

To put you under their spell.

 

Behind each word is a land

A thousand more tales to unfold

To take you to places far away

To show you wonders untold

 

Behind this poem is a realm

Millions of lives that have been

Sights unique to that place alone

Sights no mortal has seen

 

Behind each line is a universe

Filled with silver and gold

Never seen by the likes of you

Holding the secrets of old

 

Behind that cover is a place

Foreign to your eyes

Open and see, close and remember

That glimpse of remote worlds:  a prize

I love the idea of (i'm pretty sure) every person has a story and you shouldn't judge them be why they do. That's what I'm getting out of this. This is a whaleiful poem and I look forward to reading more of your work.
