A Poem by Arabdha

The blankness of the canvas haunts me..

oddly reminds me of my life somehow..

yesterday it bore a much adored picture of perfection..

now the colors ruefully succumb to nothingness…

red..the color of love..

was painted all over..

now the shades of silence have shadowed em..

the passion of lavender laced its outline..

but now its all gone..

black’s elegance has faded to grey..

yellow’s vibrance has mellowed away..

and every other shade has managed to merge into..

the all encompassing hues of the void..

and lost its very existence..

the blankness of the canvas haunts me..

oddly reminds me of my life somehow..

Nice .... very nice , the canvas of life ...
A scene comes to mind , as if moving along a winding road in first person view with someone reciting this in the background , yes that would be a perfect scene where this can be read .. good work.

Wonderful metaphor. I like the repetition of

the blankness of the canvas haunts me.. (perhaps the theme)

Well done!

very nice!! I love the play on colours - and the subtle rhymes (grey/away) - it all flows so easily, and is full of imagery to satiate the inner eye!! great poem!!

I like how you used the values of color - contrast , saturation . Red the dominant color and the dominant emotion, its absence felt in your palette to paint this day ..

I like the use of the colors in this poem. I feel certain words and feelings have a color associated with them.

Wow. I really liked this. The message i got from reading it was that you once had a life so full of vibrant colors and excitement, but now it has slipped away to something dull and dreary, a "blank canvas". Great job(:

This is I believe the first poem I have read from you and I must say, I loved it. It possesses a unique sweetness to it that echoes throughout the entire pience.. I love the sybolism of the canvas... The life of one who can paint anything upon it. and I love how you compared the blank canvas to your life..... Needing something more... This is a delightful piece, and I would'nt mind rereading this piece over and over again. The rhythm is direct, yet fluid, and it flows into ones heart easlily and effectively... Great job. I am adding this poem to my favorites. its a truly remarkable piece!
