Another Unsettled HeartA Poem by Emma RaetherA poem inspired by a conversation with my most recent ex. Although it was nice talking to him, there was unresolved questions and tensions, seemingly only inside myself...
Isn’t it nice, how we can talk to each other again?
I used to call you lover, but instead I call you friend
Isn’t it nice hearing us laugh again?
Instead of yelling at each other, at some forgotten fiend
Isn’t it nice now, knowing we’re both at peace?
I still loved you but I could tell you were aching to be released
Isn’t it nice to think I loved you enough to let go?
You saw me withering away right under your nose
And you did nothing.
Isn't it nice, too be forgiven without apologizing?
Perhaps I am the fool, for not realizing
That underneath, there no was more to show
Than another broken pendulum, another unsettled heart.
