The Lost Seeker

The Lost Seeker

A Poem by Archishman Rick

I see the distance covered by the spaces between,
Proximity as it seems has sweeped the obstacles clean,
Yet the destination calls as though I still roam lost,
Counting the petty miles insured at direction's cost,
Who or what will this road lead to at long last,
Is but winding speculation in this matrix vast.

The darkness that tailed me on my last visit home,
I found to represent the very traits of my own,
Honest in my dare I turned round for its embrace,
Only to meet void as it vanished without a trace,
Is it to return favour or seek unobtained closure,
That I trail this path that leads with undefined measure?

Faith that spurred past where whip or lust could ever push,
To drive forth the inner child scared and snared by dark bush,
Lives on in truth's authenticity through every shade,
In deep refuges of its light that will never fade,
As it dwells within and reflects on each road crossed in vain,
The wandering child will find the direction again.
