Chandelier

Chandelier

A Poem by Ariel Olivia
"

I was watching a lot of fantasy at the time I wrote this. I hope someone enjoys it.

"

Chandelier, shining so bright

This is the closest I can get to the sky

If I make a wish upon a fake crystal tonight

Would it come true? Will it just gather dust?

Or would it all just be worthless?

Chandelier, hanging so high

Is it now that I should try?

Try this moment in time

to trade a wish for a lie?

This will eventually become a dull routine

A routine that can only make you dream

for a moment, of the obscene

Chandelier, hanging there

do your fake crystals make you feel ugly?

Do you wish to feel expensive?

Or do you not feel at all?

Chandelier, I wish you were a wishing well

For if you were, I'd spend every penny I had

But most of all, what I would wish...

would be for my wishes to come true.
