Another piece about one of the Five Great Generals from 'To End the Crusade'

From the shadows,

He always watched.

Waiting silently,

For the chance to strike.

 

He was very quick,

But slow in thought.

He rarely understood,

Much they had taught.

 

Betrayed by the twin,

Of his best friend and brother.

Left on his own,

The ward staring at his back.

 

Always defended,

By the brother and medic.

He guarded them in the shadows,

From those that hunted.

 

Captured by Templars,

When scouting ahead.

Forced to merge with vengeful spirit,

He lost control of all that was dear.

 

Forced to watch,

His body betrays his brother,

Not just once,

But numerous times.

 

Forced to cause the death,

Of the unborn daughter.

Witnessed the torture of his brother,

Betrayed the trust of the medic.

 

With a heavy heart,

He confessed his sins.

And smiled even,

As she beheaded him.

This poem is a beautiful tragedy I like to call them, committing such heinous acts it is no surprise he would smile in the end before being executed, This was a beautiful tale well written. I have read many things on templers and my favorite line was in a movie. Young templar: Is it not okay to kill for honor? Veteran: It's not even okay to kill in the name of god." This reminded me of that for some reason.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. This piece is but a hint for the stories that I have been posting. Eventually I will weaving them all into one big story, though they will be directed more at young adults due to the violence, and heavy adult themes.

The templars in this story are not knights, but a group of beings that share power over specific elements. THere is a group for the four main elements, earth, wind, fire, and water. And then there are groups for sub elements such as ice and magma for example. Their goals and purposes are mostly unknown, though it is they who created the first religions that stole the followers from the gods of old.

THese templars, they used to terrify me. THey'd haunt my nightmares and at one point I zoned while in the shower and I could have sworn one was standing over me and all I could see was his wide grin as he smiled down at me. It was only for a moment but I was so terrified that it took me ten minutes to regain the strength to stand and get out of the shower.

You're welcome and I noticed you wrote more about it, but I had already posted before I realized it lol. I would love to read the story after you make it, I' love reading about all sorts of things especially supernatural stuff or religious stuff.

its more fantasy than supernatural. And in this story religion is the true villain behind it all. To give you a better idea of it, I'd suggest reading 'To End the Crusade'

Aw how sad. I guess this guy lost control of his body. As I read more on these Templars I like them less and less... not that I ever liked them at all, but they seem to be causing an awful lot of trouble.

That they do and are. They are much like how the Catholic religion and its followers were in many horrid moments of humanity's past. And yes, he was possessed.

That makes sense, I thought the way they operated sounded a bit familiar. Not that I am against the Catholic religion, but religion in general causes a lot of upset in the world.

That it does. I was raised Catholic, but I have found Wicca to be the religion that mirrors my beliefs.

There is one thing people forget. Religion is man made. It wasn't created by the gods. But by the beliefs of other humans.

Exactly right! I am actually interested in learning about Wicca myself. I was born and raised Jewish, and I am proud of the culture, but I don't know exactly what I do and do not believe.
