A Statue's Tears

A Statue's Tears

A Poem by Su' Nacnetaf

She has been young and naive
a former artist and a lover
for her art she shant grieve
as mankind will soon discover.

How pathetic humans are
they fear what they don't understand
leaving for the world a scar
punishing the fair with bare hand.

Her work will inspire forever
her tomb will be hidden at plain sight
as humans slowly sever
their own fear shall be their plight.

A beautiful statue, built upright
realistic and nostalgic
a symbol for men's delight

each tear for each crushed dream
an artist's end which is tragic
is it statue's tears or just a gleam?
