Chess

To kill the opponent

Chess stamps of Magayar posta
Lit my inner lantern
To save my King, with violent queen
followed by chariots and Elephants
Inside dusty squares of monochrome
To defeat the opponent
With devil's heart
Sipping blood of mine
Draining to death
The war is fought never-ending
King is helpless, Queen with weapons
The fire, dust and deafening cry
Of dying soldiers, never seen inside frame
Unless checkmate is growled
To cut the head of opponents King
Without mercy, The dust disappears
History lies as past memories.

this poem is a lovely use of metaphors. you capture the intensity of a game such as chess just right. the last sentence hits nicely. although not a paragraph of my words, i do enjoy this poem, especially as a chess player myself. you've done a wonderful job.
