Dog's inside Cage

Dog's inside Cage

A Poem by Arundass TP
"

Never

"

Dogs inside cage
Never walks in wild
Never hunts for food
Never seen a forefather

Never dream of wild
Never think of hunting
Never run as packs
Never enjoys doggie world.

Never chewed a rabbits meat
Never roam around freely
Never sits vigil
Never thinks of Sunset

Never sees the horizon far
Never walks far away
Never sniffs forest floor
Never follows the enemy

Never argue towards protector
Never sees barking men
Never sees howling men
Never dream of free world

We only know what we have experienced in life. If we do not know a sunset exists, do we long to see one? No! Nicely written. Lydi***

Thank you friend
The metaphor of the cage is so intense here.
Sometimes we put ourselves in those cages because we think a sheltered life is safer.
But it will never give us the joy of roaming and experiencing what is out there.
Playing it safe can hinder us so much.
And for those who are caged by others, freedom taken away...they are whimpering while those who keep them oppressed are howling.
I do dream of a free world, Arundass, but I know it is a pipe dream.
Such a good poem you have written here.

Thank you friend 🙏
Cages are so limiting - for the body and also the spirit. Your poem is very compelling and thought-provoking.

Thank you friend
Caged animals, so sad. They are better left in their natural setting. Having said that, humans too can be caged. Reminds me how precious freedom is. Thank you for sharing Arundass.
